Podcast identity for ‘State Of The Arts’ by Gemma Aston

A podcast designed to discuss Arts and culture from a woman’s perspective, having been in the business her whole life. Gemma Aston’s aim is to entertain and amuse listeners whilst also give solidarity to artists in this industry. Sharing her stories from drama school, pregnancy and acting, and other topics.

My aim was to portray the ‘it’s not all it’s cut out to be’ perspective that the podcast is based on through the simple black line drawings while also showing Gemma’s ‘quirky’ personality with the printed colourful type. I hope to suggest to the listeners there are humorous and fun elements as well as hard truths.

EP cover and poster for ‘Haunted’ by Laura Moody

Here, I was asked to make a gig poster and EP cover for Laura Moody, a well-known musician who just released her new EP; Haunted. I was given the background image by photographer Gerald Jenkins and the freedom to add text however I saw fit.

I decided to match the mood by inverting the typography depending on the side it sat. I also added my own interpretive illustrations to follow the textures found in the image.

Cinematic posters for ‘Children of Ukraine’

A film directed by Taisia Kokichkova, edited by Arlo Sullivan for University of the West of England.

I was given the film to select stills from in order to reimagine them as portrait posters and design accordingly.

EP cover design for ‘Heavy’ by The Dunes

Their brief for me was to take inspiration from the song and use ideas shared in the lyrics to create a single cover. I had full creative freedom for this project as they wanted to promote small and upcoming artists/designers as well as themselves.

A material I am currently enjoying experimenting with is Letraset. Using such a raw, honest material such as this was a good way to represent the song as well as myself.
